SAVING ONE DOG WILL NOT CHANGE THE WORLD BUT FOR THAT ONE DOG THE WORLD WILL BE FOREVER CHANGED!

I HAVE A SAYING HANGING ON MY WALL–I AM NOT SURE WHO WROTE IT BUT IT SAYS IT ALL–

SAVING ONE DOG WILL NOT CHANGE THE WORLD BUT FOR THAT ONE DOG THE WORLD WILL BE FOREVER CHANGED!

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A DOG–VISIT YOUR LOCAL RESCUE OR SHELTER. I CURRENTLY HAVE 4 RESCUE ANIMALS–2 DOGS AND 2 CATS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC BREED YOU CAN USUALLY FIND A RESCUE THAT SPECIALIZES IN THAT BREED (LAB RESCUE ETC). THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT SAVING A LIFE. SHELTERS ARE OVER POPULATED WITH ADORABLE LOVING ANIMALS. HOPE IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE. SHE WAS SET TO BE PUT TO SLEEP UNTIL OUR LOCAL RESCUE SAVED HER.

Meet the shelter /rescue animals of doggie couture–

Lucy–she is an angel. She is a lab mix and about 45-50 lbs. She loves to run in our backyard and chase the birds. She has caught a few of them but lets them go and they fly away! they love to fly low and tease her. her story is she came from a local rescue. cyrus (my child) was about 5 and woke up one very cold morning and insisted he wanted to go help dogs that day. we found a local rescue and took some supplies they needed. lucy was there in a cage. he asked if we could walk her so they let us walk her around the neighborhood. we said our goodbyes (surprisingly he did not ask to bring her home!). it was not christmas eve and i saw a post that lucy was the only dog at the rescue that did not have a place to go and be fostered for the week. they try to give their staff time off so they foster out dogs. so christmas eve afternoon lucy came home. long story short i foster failed. we all fell in love with her sweet gentle heart and she is our fur-ever dog!

maggie–she is 8 years old next week. maggie was a farm cat that had been picked up as a 6 week old kitten by a hawk. she has no use of her back legs and not much feeling waist down. just don’t tell her she can’t do what every other cat can do. as a kitten she was crazy. she climbed all the way to the top of the curtains. now she just flys down the steps. even though she has her limitations she is all cat!

hope is a chihuahua mix. we got her so cyrus would have a little dog he could carry around. max our cat that he always carried was getting pretty old and sick. at the time we thought he was not going to live (he lived another year and made it to about 18). MY MOM AND SISTER WERE BOTH GETTING LITTLE DOGS SO OF COURSE HE WANTED ONE TOO. WE STARTED JUST CHECKING OUT SOME RESCUE SITES AND SHELTERS. ONE DAY WE WERE WALKING INTO A PETMART (ONE THAT WE NEVER GO TO AS IT IS NOT THE CLOSEST TO US BUT FOR SOME REASON–GUESSING HOPE WAS WAITING FOR US) WE WENT TO THAT ONE. MY SISTER AND CYRUS WALKED UP TO THE RESCUE THAT WAS OUTSIDE THE DOOR AND ASKED ABOUT A LITTLE DOG. ENTER HOPE…. SHE CAME HOME THAT DAY! THIS LITTLE DOG IS ALWAYS COLD AND LOVES TO LAY IN THE SUN OR BY THE FIREPLACE. SHE GOES EVERYWHERE WITH US AND IS SUCH A SWEET DOG. SHE IS NICE TO EVERYONE AND HAS A HUGE HEART! YOU WILL SEE HER MODELING A LOT OF OUR CLOTHES AND ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM.

ROWDYCAT– OUR NEWEST ADDITION. HE IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND ADORABLE. HE LOVES CYRUS AND SITS WITH HIM ALL THE TIME (WHEN HE IS NOT BEING CRAZY). I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAT EAT MORE THAT THIS ONE! HE WAS AT OUR VETS OFFICE LOOKING FOR A HOME. SHE WORKS WITH THE LOCAL SHELTERS AND ADOPTS A LOT OF ANIMALS TO GOOD HOMES . WE HAD JUST LOST MAX THE CAT AND I GUESS WE NEEDED A LITTLE MORE CAT LOVE!
